Ocean Birthday Cupcakes

Check out these super fun, cute birthday cupcakes!  The little birthday girl had a mermaid themed party so I adorned her cupcakes with fondant seashells, fish and starfish!

She wanted two dozen lemon and chocolate cupcakes.  The cupcakes smelled heavenly while I delivered them.  Mmm!

I also made two specialty cupcakes for the birthday girl’s friend who are egg free and refined sugar free.  I made their cupcakes with a chia seed egg, coconut oil, and coconut sugar.  Their cupcakes tasted like a cupcake brownie!  So keep in mind that I can do substitutions if you need it!  🙂

Football-Themed Birthday Cake!

Last month I made a yummylicious birthday cake: classic vanilla gluten free cake with smooth whipped chocolate buttercream.  {Wish I got to eat a slice!}

I only knew the birthday boy liked football so I was given free reign to design.  My hubs actually helped come up with the idea of yard lines since I know nothing about football 😉  So fun to make!

A Spring Birthday Cake

My dear friend and neighbor had a birthday at the end of March and I wanted to make her something special.  I made a six inch round cake with two layers of chocolate cake and one vanilla and covered it in a delicious creamy vanilla buttercream.

Since we’re lucky California starts blooming early (even before official spring!) I wanted her cake to include some gerbera daisies and tiny yellow blossoms to celebrate the season.  I also speckled the icing with a cocoa powder/ vanilla extract mix and a clean brush (super messy and fun!) to make it look similar to a Robin’s egg.

I loved making this cake.  And it was delicious.  Happy Birthday Kristina!  I’m so lucky to have you in my life!

Pink Strawberry Cake Pops

I had the pleasure of creating these adorable strawberry shaped cake pops for a little girl’s 1st birthday party!

The pops are made of red velvet cake mixed with cream cheese frosting and dipped in vanilla candy coating.

Wanna know how to make them?  It’s simple!  Just takes time.

I simply shaped the cake mixture into pyramid shapes, let them chill, then dipped them in the candy coating and attached the sugar pearls while the coating was still wet {you have to work super fast… food safe tweezers come in handy!}

Lastly, color your gum paste to the desired green color and roll out about 1/16 inch thickness.  Cut out the leaves with a small sized fondant cutter (or cookie cutter), roll out a little ball for the stem and attach with a drop of water.  Let gum paste harden slightly then attach to the pops with a dab of melted candy melt.  Brush with sparkly edible glitter!

I am always so pleased and so happy when my customers love their pops.  It takes a lot of precious time and love to make these!

here is a picture my customer sent to me… love the labels she made for her daughter’s birthday party!

Cowgirl Cake Pops

  As some of you may know, I recently opened an Etsy shop!

Appropriately named The Gluten Free Wife, I sell gluten free cake pops, sugar cookies, cake balls, focaccia bread, and {non-edible} paper buntings!

And I had my first two sales this past week!
These cute lil pops were for a four year old’s birthday party.  The theme: Jessie the Cowgirl from Toy Story!  How cute!

I made 2 dozen pops: 12 cowprint, 6 yellow, and 6 red.  And with the classic flavors of Chocolate Fudge and Vanilla Funfetti.

They were super fun to make… and look so cute!

A big thank you to my customers!  You were a pleasure to work with!  🙂
